Good news! You have a golden chance to win big bucks while helping Corrales golden agers stay active and remain in their beloved homes. VILLAGE in the Village (ViV) is holding a 50/50 Golden Chance raffle where the winner wins half the total ticket sales. The goal is at least $5,000 in ticket sales, with the winning ticket collecting at least $2,500! (If we are lucky enough to be near our goal by The Comment Deadline, change to: With the Port of Gold already at $3,150, you stand to win at least $1,575!
The other half of ticket donations will go to support the programs and operational expenses of ViV. This volunteer-based non-profit promotes intergenerational community life by helping older adults remain in their homes while leading active, independent, and productive lives. ViV members pay a small annual fee in exchange for a wide variety of services and programs including:
ViV also gives back to the community. ViV funded and built the bocci ball court at the Corrales Recreation Center, installed Little Free Libraries throughout the village and runs a medical equipment lending program available to anyone in Corrales. Currently, ViV is coordinating with the village for a road and trail clean up.
ViV’s contribution of the well-being of Corrales golden agers is best described by some of its members:
BERT DAVIS: I have lived in Corrales since 1979 and raised my two sons here. I am very proud to be one of the volunteers who provided labor and obtained donated materials to build the Corrales Library for a mere $10,000.
I work from home for the University of New Mexico doing research for the medical school as a biostatistician. My wife Ester works full time as a psychologist and in addition, sees veterans for compensation and pension exams.
