Election season has already started, with voting for the 2023 Pet Mayor Elections already underway.
If you haven’t yet gotten acquainted with the candidates, your opportunity to do so will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 16 at La Entrada Park in Corrales.
The Pet Mayor election is held in conjunction with the Corrales Harvest Festival. The election is a fundraiser for organizations that benefit the two-legged and four-legged members of the Corrales community, according to its website. Each vote costs $1 and there’s no limit on the number of votes that can be cast for a candidate. Voting online costs $2 per vote.
You can vote for the new Pet Mayor online on the Corrales Harvest Festival Website or in person at the “Meet the Pet Mayor Candidates” event on Sept. 16. The new Pet Mayor will be announced on Sunday, October 1st, prior to the pet parade and online.
The “Meet The Candidates” event is your chance to decide who you think will be the best contender for the prestigious title and who will be the best voice for all animals of Corrales. This year there are six furry friends running for the title of Pet Mayor.
