Albuquerque police say a man was shot and killed while on a motorcycle near a busy intersection leading into Corrales on the afternoon of March 18.
The incident closed the intersection of Coors Road and Alameda Boulevard not far from the southern tip of the village limits and the main gateway into Corrales where Coors becomes Corrales Road.
The incident backed up traffic in all four directions at the intersection late that afternoon, forcing Albuquerque police to re-route traffic. People driving in or out of Corrales had to find a different route until the intersection was opened hours later.
Few details about the shooting were released, but APD identified the victim as 43-year-old John Taylor.
Two motorcycles, one laying flat on the ground, were in the median of Alameda on west side of the intersection.
