Marilyn Kay Burgess passed away June 18, 2024, after a long illness. Kay is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jack Burgess of Corrales; daughters Ellen of Albuquerque; Anne and husband Ken Stabler of Parker, Colorado; grandson Ryan Stabler; and nephews Jim and Ray Greggerson. Marilyn Kay Rutz was born November 15, 1938, in El Paso, Texas to Katherine Elizabeth Holt and Earl Rutz. She was later adopted by her stepfather, Richard Crawford. Kay earned a BA (English) from Texas Western College in 1960. Kay and Jack raised their daughters in Silver City, Grants and Corrales. Kay enjoyed many years volunteering at Corrales Community Library and working in local elections. Graveside services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 28 at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho. Memorial gifts may be made to Friends of the Corrales Library or Alzheimer’s Association.
