In need of some canine cuddle time? Ready to read to a dog? Research has shown therapy dogs can reduce stress and provide a sense of connection in difficult situations. To that end, the Southwest Canine Corps of Volunteers, Inc. (SCCV) Therapy Dog Day will be on Saturday, April 21, with therapy dog teams showing off what they do best: Read to the Dogs, Cuddle a Canine, and demonstrate dog safety.
The Therapy Dog Day event will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. at the Ex Novo Brewery in Corrales.Â
SCCV is a local, not-for-profit organization in the Albuquerque area offering pet therapy to the community for more than 30 years. Our organization partners with over 35 facilities, allowing our 40+ members and their dogs to visit a wide variety of locations and community events to provide pet therapy. SCCV has logged thousands of volunteer hours to the community A therapy dog provides comfort, compassion, and distraction to patients, families, and staff in a variety of settings.
