Corrales Police reported they arrested Charles Kauffmann, who is a suspect in the murder of Elizabeth Barela, 29, in Corrales the evening of Jan. 22.

“While checking surrounding areas shortly after noon today (Jan. 31) CPD located murder suspect Charles Kauffmann on Eagle Ranch Road near Paseo del Norte in Albuquerque.  APD was notified and CPD took Kauffmann into custody without incident,” Corrales police reported.

Kauffmann was booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center for murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
