A new power line on Corrales’ west side plus electricity outages and
other issues are to be discussed when representatives of Public Service
Company of New Mexico come before the Village Council February 9.
A new line of power poles would be erected in the Northwest Sector,
apparently from Carey Road to Camino Sin Pasada, but Village officials
have questioned the need in light of previous PNM promises on
reliability when an earlier line was approved.
At council meetings last year, councillors expressed irritation and
frustration at continued power outages after they went along with PNM
plans for new lines a few years ago that were supposed to resolve
capacity concerns.
But that irritability is likely to be tempered by Village officials’
need to negotiate with PNM for acquisition of its property in the
roadway corridor for Corrales’ proposed “Access A” out to Highway 528
in the Far Northwest Sector.
Back in October, the Village scheduled a work-study session with PNM’s
Carol Radosevich to explore recent power outages and service
reliability. |
