Live cuttings taken from the Landmark Tree at the Old Church that was removed amid controversy this past winter were planted Monday, May 14 at the Cottonwood Montessori School to launch a “Living Tree” public awareness program. Two surviving saplings cut from the stately tree that had stood for nearly 100 years next to the Old Church were planted under the direction of Living Tree Committee co-chairs Stacia Spragg-Braude and Jen Northup, with guidance from Andrew Lisignole of Trees of Corrales. Also attending were Alice Glover of the Corrales Historical Society and Evelyn Losack.Village Councillor Pat Clauser initiated the Corrales Landmark Tree program. |
